    Thomas Jefferson was a great American who contributed very much to the foundation of this great country. Here are many of his quotes that have relevance to what is happening in our government today. Where are the men of today that can be quoted? Who is saying anything of worth anymore? Is it just the speech writers who really have something to say? What would our President have to say if it were not for his speech writers? Where I ask you – where are the great men and women of today?

    Read these quotes and understand that Jefferson was a man of common sense and principles – both of which are lacking in the politicians of today. His character, integrity and knowledge would put to shame most of our elected leaders in government today. Enjoy these relevant bits of wisdom as I wish I could force feed these to everyone in Congress and even the President as well.     A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits on industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of a good government.

    My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

    The government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves.

    The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

    The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive.

    The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

    The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

    We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

    When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people there is liberty.

    Did you enjoy those insights? If only we had a man or woman like Jefferson today. Actually I am sure you are out there – we just don’t know you yet. We the People need a real leader – someone the tax payers can support and follow. Someone who could uphold the torch of honesty, character, integrity and truth. We need this person in our government NOW – but where are you? You are not Obama – we can see that – you are not one of the leaders in Congress we can see that – but you may be in Congress – you are just being stifled by the corrupt power leaders.

    But this person really can be you. This person can be any American taxpayer out there – this person can be all of us if we band together. This person is you and me.  We are on the front lines of a war with our government leaders right now. It is a battle to maintain our freedoms and to pass on a debt free society to all future generations.

    Who are we to pass on trillions in debt? When we in this generation are all dead and gone – it will not matter to us what we did, how much we spent and how much fun we had – but it will matter to the generation that is living.

    We the People have an obligation to all future generations – and right now our obligation is to rid our government of its current corrupt and deceitful politicians that have weaseled their way into government and our lives. We owe this to the nation’s children, their children and their future.

    Make your voice heard today and be counted as an American for the Constitution.
